Did you miss the cut=off? I encourage you to try again. I want to help you achieve your dream of earning a spot at the starting line of the most prestigious marathon in the world.
Training again is a big commitment in every way (physically, financially, emotionally) and yet Boston is worth the effort. I want to minimize some of your risk by offering a full refund if you do everything you can to train well with me and end up missing the cut-off again.
The only differences between this "Get into Boston or Get a Refund" Program and my most successfulPlatinum Program(which is open to everyone)is onlyrunnerswho applied to 2024 Boston and missed the cut-off are eligiblefor this Full Refund option. The standard Platinum Program offers no refund but anyone can sign up for it..
We are both taking a big risk but I believe in both of us. I can't afford to provide refunds. My coaching income funds much of my livelihood. Unlike many coaches, your dream is not my side-hustle. I have invested decades of my life into becoming the best marathon coach I can be (see my Testimonials Page). It is just as important to me that you succeed as it is to you.
I believe in my ability to help and I believe in your ability to achieve your goal. Together we can do this.
Who is eligible: Anyone who met their BQ standard, applied to Boston 2024, received a rejection email due to missing the 5:29 cut-off, and wants to try to qualify again before 9/24.
What is you don't qualify for this program? If you don't meet the criteria for this program, you can still work with me as a coach under the standard terms of our coaching agreement which has no money back guarantee. Please reach out as my roster does fill.
These Rules: I value your time and mine. These Rules do NOT intent to act as official terms of this program. They are posted here to only to provide transparency and to allow you the ability to determine if you think you are good fit for this program.
Most of these rules are the same as what you agree to as a Platinum Program runners. However offering a FULL REFUND is a big risk. I am happy to offer the refund if we do our best work together and you miss another cut-off. I do need some special rules for this program to ensure we know what to expect from each other from the start. A formal agreement will contact all terms that we agree to. This is list is just a summary of what to generally expect.
(1) All applicants must purchase complete an Initial Coaching Assessment to determine eligibility for this program or any other program.
An initial assessment is required for any Run-Coaching Program. The Initial Assessment are stand-alone services used to assess their readiness for training and discuss realistic goal-setting. This service cost $49 and pays for the work done and time spent providing you with a personalized assessment. This fee is non-refundable even if you are not a good fit for this program or any other coaching programs offered by Creating Momentum.
The link to the Initial Assessment provides guidance before purchase about eligibility. If you are not sure if you are a good fit for online coaching and have questions about the process you can Contact Me to ask how online coaching works. I can't answer questions about your personal fitness or abilities without an assessment BUT I can answer questions about how I provided coaching and what yo can expect as a client.
(2) 20 weeks of Platinum Level Coaching required:
Runners officially accepted in the "Get into Boston or Get a Refund" program must safely complete Creating Momentum Coaching's most successful and most popular Platinum Level Run-Coaching program for at least 20 weeks.
This program provides 20 weeks of personalized training loaded in Final Surge with daily coach following, feedback, and revisions as needed, and 2 x 30 minutes Coaching Zoom sessions which are a necessary part of the training program and address your training and health & wellness needs You must maintain a Final Surge log. You must communicate with coach. You must be able to meet 2 x per block for face-to-face coaching. Documentation and scheduling for the coaching Zoom sessions are provided through a separate client portal app called Healthie. You must be able to use both apps for this program.
As with any other Creating Momentum Coaching program, to protect the health & well-being of the participants in this program, Creating Momentum Coaching reserves the right to request medical clearance for continued training and/or the right to terminate coaching at any time if it appears that the athlete is putting themselves at risk of harm.
(3) Fee Schedule: Billing occurs every 4 weeks to minimize your financial risk.
(4) Refund policy for those who can't compete 20 weeks:
Life can get in the way. Injuries happen. Just like for all other run-coaching program, there are are No Refunds for dropping from the program for any reason along the way. This is why billing is done for only 4 weeks at a time. Coaching agreements do contain terms regarding how to request partial future credit for unused coaching time due to an adverse medical condition with medical documentation of injury or illness.
Safe completion of 20 weeks of the Platinum Program is required to be eligible for a full refund if you miss the cut-off again.
(5) OptimalRace Selection and willingness to travel:
Creating Momentum Coaching will provide race recommendations. We want to succeed. Runners must be willing to travel to some degree (at least within driving distance with an overnight stay if necessary) to access the most optimal BQ-eligible race options available in the runner's region. Coach will work diligently with each runner in consideration of the ability to travel to find the most accessible races that also provide the best chance to succeed.
Your local marathon may not be the race that gets you to Boston. You are competing for a bib against others who do travel to the fastest races. Let me help you find the best options that you can get to realistically.
(6) Performance Window and How to Request a Full Refund if you qualify:
The Performance Windowfor achieving a BQ will be from the close of the run-coaching program through 45 days after the last day of coaching. Bad days happen. Goal races sometimes don't work out. Running a second marathon within 45 days is often what it takes to manifest the goal. The impact of coaching do not disappear on the last day of coaching. The impact of coaching is significant and present for many week after the end of a training cycle. Therefore the performance window to BQ is 45 days long.
Athletes must request refund if eligible by no later than 14 days after BAA announces cut-off. Allow coach 7 days to initiate refund.
You must actually race to be eligible for a refund. You must race at least 1 BQ-eligible marathon at the end of the run-coaching program and/or within 45 days of the close of coaching to be eligible to request a refund. If you choose to not race a BQ-eligible marathon after completing 20 weeks of training, you will not be not eligible to request a refund.
If you attempt 1 or more marathons in the window of time from the end of the run-coaching program through 45 days later, and you do not manage to achieve your BQ minimum standard at all, a full refund for the entire 20 weeks of coaching will be issued upon your request.
If you attempt 1 or more marathons in the window of time from the close of the run-coaching program through 45 days later, and you do run equal to or faster than your BQ standard during that time, you must actually apply to the Boston Marathon and get rejected again for missing the cut-off to become eligible for a refund.
If a you attempt 1 or more marathons in the window of time from the close of the run coaching program through 45 days later and you do run equal to of faster than your BQ standard during that time, but then you also run a faster time after the 45 days window, only if none of the times run during the 45 days would have qualified you for Boston can you request a refund. However if any of the times run during the 45 days widow after run-coaching ended would have meet BQ cut-off criteria, then no refund will be issued.
