Resilience Development
for Athletes and Non-Athletes

Resilience Development Coaching can help you achieve your optimal health, wellness, and performance. Chase your peak performance goals or mitigate symptoms of current illness, minimize your exposure to unchecked stressors, and/or reduce the risk of succumbing to over-training.

This coaching program is grounded in evidence-based research but personalized to you, based upon your needs, abilities, and values.

Solution-Focused Approach. I assist with realistic goal-setting, help identify effective tools for tracking and managing health- and wellness- related data, and teach you how to build effective, measurable, and personalized achievable action plans. I provide support, guidance, accountability, and opportunity for solution-focused discussion as you implement your plan within a clearly identified time-frame.

The Pillars of health and wellness that impact resilience include:
1. Exercise
2. Nutrition
3. Sleep/Recovery
4. Stress Management
5. Physical Health Challenges
6. Self-Care/Leisure
7. Relationships with Others
8. Sense of Accomplishment/Purpose
9. Financial Health
10. Relationship to the Environment (both inside and outside the home).

See the Resilience Development self-assessment form to learn what a weekly assessments look like.

Resilience Development does NOT replace medical or psychiatric treatment for current conditions. However, Resilience Development is personalized preventative care. For those interested in improving their physical and/or mental wellness, this coaching program can help you identify and change maladaptive patterns that will eventually lead to compromised health and potential illness. This program can improve your quality of life if you are currently in treatment for a medical issue.

My Education and Experience:
I have dedicated decades of my life to high-quality accredited university level education in various health, wellness, and counseling fields. I have applied my hard-earned knowledge in the real world to help real people manage and resolve very serious problems. I enjoy helping others find their best selves and resolution to the distressful problems that hold them back from enjoying life to the fullest.

To that end, I have earned:
MS in Kinesiology (study of human movement), with a dual concentration in sports performance and sports psychology. This exercise science graduate program was heavily research-based. It provided access to the most up-to-date evidence-based practice in areas of exercise and mental skills training for improved performance.

MA in Creative Arts Psychotherapy and hold a Board-Certification as an Art Therapist (ATR-BC). I earned an EdS (Education Specialist) degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Systems Therapy. I currently work as a psychotherapist (part-time) on an inpatient, acute, psychiatric stabilization and rehabilitation unit. There I create solution-focused creative therapy groups to help adults suffering from the most severe forms of mental illness understand themselves and their needs better to regain control of their ability to function.

JD (law degree) with an emphasis on Therapeutic Jurisprudence. I have been licensed to practice law in two states. Therapeutic Jurisprudence emphasizes understanding how legal matters and psychological stress overlap. I currently teach graduate-level creative arts therapy students about the overlap between the legal system and creative arts psychotherapy.

B.A. in Fine Arts with a minor in psychology.

ISSA Fitness Nutrition Specialist Certification. This program focused on understating the most current research on how to fuel our bodies for optimal health, wellness, and performance.

RRCA, USATF, and NFHS Coaching certifications, providing guidance about coaching individuals interested in endurance training for optimal performance.

Real Balance Certification as as Health and Wellness Coach.
