Creating Momentum Optimal Health Skills Training for Athletes and Non-Athletes
Optimal Health Skills Training for Athletes and Non-Athletes. This is aHealth Skills Training and Coaching Program, grounded in evidence-based research but personalized to you, based upon your needs, abilities, and values.
Over the last decade, I have use my knowledge of exercise science in conjunction with my skill as a psychotherapist to create a whole-person focused training program for endurance athletes. As a result, Creating Momentum athletes have not only achieved their performance goals, but many report feeling happier, healthier, and experiencing a better quality of life than before training with Creating Momentum Coaching.
I am extending my Health Coaching services to now offer targeted health skill training and coaching services to anyone (athletes and non-athletes) who would like to improve their overall health and wellness. Through one-on-one or group-based health and wellness coaching, you will be trained to use evidence-based behavior change techniques and coached through your obstacles as you find personalized solutions in any one or all of the Pillars of Health identified below. Once these skills are learned they can be used for life. I will assist with realistic goal-setting, help identify effective tools for tracking and managing health-related data, teach how to build a measurable and personalized achievable action plan. I will then provide support, guidance, accountability, and opportunity for solution-focused discussion along the way as you implement your action plan within a clearly identified time-frame.
The 10 Pillars of Health identified by Creating Momentum Coaching as impacting Health and Wellness the most include: 1. Exercise 2. Nutrition 3. Sleep/Recovery 4. Stress Management 5. Physical Health Challenges 6. Self-Care/Leisure 7. Relationships with Others 8. Sense of Accomplishment/Purpose 9. Financial Health 10. Relationship to the Environment (both inside and outside the home).
Health Coaching is not treatment. Health Coaching improves quality of life by using evidence-based skillful coach-client collaboration to help individuals assess their current physical and emotional state. Health Coaching aims to design strategies to actively and safely engage clients in health-related behavior changes. Health Coaching teaches clients new skills while providing accountability and support. Health Coaching does NOT replace medical care. Health Coaching does not treat current illnesses but can improve the quality of life for those currently in treatment for a medical issue. Health Coaching may help currently healthy individuals avoid compromising their future health by identifying and changing maladaptive patterns of behavior that can and will catch up with individuals over time and lead to illness.
