- Functional Nutrition Coaching can help athletes achieve peak athletic performance as well as help anyone reduce risk of developing lifestyle-related illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc. Functional Nutrition Coaching does not treat illnesses, but rather helps everyone, especially those at risk of developing these illnesses, reverse or reduce risk of lifestyle or nutrition caused illness. For those with a medical condition who are prescribed a special diet, nutrition coaching as a behavior change focused service is able to help you follow your medically provided nutritional plan without interfering or conflicting with clinical medical advice.
- Knowing how to eat for general health and wellness is harder than it should be. My "Creating Balance" Function Nutrition Coaching program can help anyone learn how to create a minimally restrictive, sustainable, and nutritionally balanced style of eating that follows the USDA MyPlate recommendations.
- I am not a Registered Dietitian. I do not independently prescribe clinical care. Instead I coach how to eat to avoid becoming unwell using guidance that is publicly available by the USDA and other expert resources in healthy nutrition. As a Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach I was tested on my knowledge of these guidelines. We do no need wait until we are unwell to learn how to eat well. Not knowing how to eat a balanced diet can lead to illness. Nutrition Coaching for General Wellness is accessible to anyone who wants to avoid illness and improve their health.

Who am I: I am Behavior Change Coach who offers affordable Lifestyle Medicine Coaching and Function Nutrition Coaching.
- I have a Master of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Sports Performance and Sport Psychology. My MS programed included graduate level coursework in Nutrition. I am an ISSA Certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist, an ISSA Certified Transformation Specialist, a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), and a trained Diabetes Prevention Program Lifestyle Coach. I have completed continuing education coursework in Lifestyle Medicine and Functional Nutrition. I earned a post-graduate level designation as an Education Specialist (EdS). Accordingly, I provide reliable and trustworthy evidence-based nutrition guidance.I share and clarify expert resources to help you decide what you want to change to achieve optimal health.

Functional Nutrition takes a holistic approach to assess how your lifestyle affects you food choices which can impact your overall health and well=being. I provide functional nutrition coaching as part of my Health & Performance Coaching program.
Who I am NOT: I am not as a Licensed or Registered Dietitian.I do NOT provide Medical Nutrition Therapy. I don't prescribe diets. I do not write meal plans.I do not treat illness, but I do provide guidance about how to reduce risk of lifestyle-related illness and how to maintain health & wellness through healthy lifestyle.
What can you expect: I will help you change your habits. This is not a one-sized fits all program. It isn’t even just all about food. I focus on what works: asking questions about your whole-person well-being, identifying goals, determining what is possible to change, finding and eliminating hidden barriers, designing realistic action plans, creating a sense of accountability, and witnessing your success.
Why do this: Healthy nutrition impacts more than just body composition and fitness. Healthy nutrition can prevent some of the most prevalent illnesses in our country today. Cardiovascular diseases, stroke, diabetes. certain forms of cancer, and dysregulated mood are strongly linked to our health habits and are known as "lifestyle diseases".
