Disordered Eating & Athletes: Education for Prevention
Picture
Being a performance-focused athlete, even at a recreational level, requires a lot of discipline and structure around food, exercise, sleep/recovery, and stress management. But when does it go too far? Can an athlete truly track data purposefully in an effort to optimize peak performance and still avoid disordered eating?  Is it possible for an endurance athlete to focus on body composition and still maintain a healthy relationship with food?

As I take my own deep dive into all things related to Disordered Eating amongst Athletes, I created this page to share the resources I am learning from. You will find links to articles, websites, continuing education courses, and questions for discussion. I invite you to learn with me, collaboratively, as a peer who is also interested in the subject matter of Disordered Eating & Athletes: Education for Prevention.  Bring a curious mind. Ask questions. Share what you are learning. Discuss the content with me.

By sharing education, I hope to help prevent disordered eating for others like me who are athletes, coaches, and/or care about athletes and want to support the pursuit of peak performance without compromising health and well-being.

This a public educational group.
This group is not an Eating Disorder Support Group.
This group does not intend to replace professional treatment in any way.

If you found this page because you need help, consider reaching out to the National Alliance for Eating Disorders here
https://www.allianceforeatingdisorders.com.  You will find more resources listed in the guides section of my FB Group which is free to join and available to the public.
Take me to the Disordered Eating & Athletes: Education for Prevention Group
Yes, these groups are all absolutely free but I still want to ask for a little bit of your help if you afford it.
